About This Scholarship:

The Student Summer Research Fellowship (ETH SSRF) program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain research experience in an area of their interest choice. The fellowship provided by the Computer Science Department of Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) Zürich ETH takes place during two summer months and is open to all students worldwide. The department is committed to increasing diversity in the computer science area.
Coverage
The duration of the fellowship is fixed to the full two months of July and August. You can be present during the entire time.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in a study program (Bachelor or Master) in computer science or any related field (electrical engineering, mathematics, physics)
  • Your expected graduation date in your current study program (Bachelor or Master) is January 2021 or later.
  • Must complete 2 years of study by summer 2020

Language requirements:

The program is fully conducted in English. There is no Formal evidence is required. Your language ability may be assessed during an interview.

Application Procedure:

The application will be evaluated on the basis of the documents provided. The last step of the application process may include an interview conducted with the shortlisted candidates.

How flexible is the program when it comes to the start date?

The program begins on July 1st and ends on August 31st. This means the duration of the fellowship covers the full two months of July and August. Unfortunately, there is no flexibility for logistical reasons.

If applicable, am I required to obtain the appropriate visa to participate in the program?

Yes, it is your responsibility to acquire the necessary visa. The ETH Student Exchange office will help fellows with the process. Visa expenses will be covered.

Do I need to organize housing by myself?

No, accommodation will be organized. We intend to find accommodation for all fellows in the same student house. Housing expenses will be deducted from the scholarship.
